Gweryd Lakes is a scenic mountain fishery located in the Clwydian Range near Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, between Mold and Ruthin in North Wales. Sitting high in the Welsh hills, the lake offers anglers a unique and tranquil fishing experience surrounded by dramatic countryside.
The lake itself has a long history dating back to the late eighteenth century, when it was originally part of the Gelli Gynan Hall estate. Today the 12-acre lake holds a strong head of fish including common carp, mirror carp, ghost carp, bream, tench, perch and trout. Carp are the primary target species, with many specimen fish present and a population that has continued to grow and mature since the original stocking.
Gweryd Lakes is particularly well suited to experienced carp anglers and specimen hunters looking for a more natural and challenging venue.
