Buckley Trap Pool is a well-established mixed coarse fishery located around one mile from Buckley town centre in Flintshire, North Wales. Managed by Buckley Angling Association, the venue has become a popular fishing location for local anglers thanks to its accessible layout, good facilities and consistently productive fishing.
The fishery forms part of Buckley Angling Association, a club originally founded in 1947. Over the years the club has worked to maintain and improve the venue, ensuring it remains a welcoming and well-managed water for anglers of all experience levels. The pool itself covers approximately five acres, providing plenty of space for both pleasure anglers and organised matches.
Access around the pool is straightforward, with an on-site car park and stoned pathways around the full perimeter, making it particularly suitable for anglers using barrows or fishing trolleys. The venue also provides purpose-built disabled platforms and accessible facilities, ensuring that anglers with mobility needs can enjoy fishing in comfort.
Buckley Trap Pool is well stocked with a wide range of coarse fish species including barbel, bream, ide, carp, chub, perch, roach, rudd and tench. Summer fishing can be especially productive, with anglers often catching good mixed bags. Recent stockings of ide have proved particularly successful, with match weights frequently exceeding 20lb in recent seasons.
The fishery caters for pleasure anglers, beginners, match anglers and disabled anglers, and the club also runs a summer coaching programme for newcomers to the sport. Day ticket fishing is available during daylight hours, allowing visiting anglers to simply arrive and purchase a ticket on the bank.
